What is the Greenwich Community Network?
The Greenwich Community Network (GCN) is a single body of 19 elected community representatives who represent a wider network of people in the Borough. Each GCN member represents either a geographic area in the Borough (such as South West Greenwich) or a thematic area (such as Black and Minority Ethnic, Young People etc). To find out about each of the GCN representatives, visit the GCN profiles page.
What is the role of GCN representatives?
GCN representatives have extensive links with community, voluntary and faith groups in Greenwich. Through these links, they are able to create a dialogue between the Greenwich Partnership and the community. The Greenwich Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership for the Borough which brings together the Council and its partners from the public sector, business sector and the community, voluntary and faith sector.
GCN representatives collect the opinions and views of their groups which can in turn be raised at the Greenwich Partnership Board. They also feed information from the Greenwich Partnership back to their wider networks. GCN offers representatives a forum for networking and information sharing with other groups and service providers in the Borough.
