GCN welcomes new BME rep

The black and minority ethnic (BME) community has a new representative on the Greenwich Community Network — Adam Mohammed. He works closely with the Somali community and other organisations in Greenwich.
Disability consultation

GCN 'gets together' with the community

Consultation on the Local Strategic Partnership

The Council is currently looking at the way in which the Local Strategic Partnership (The Greenwich Partnership) is structured. Consequently, the Network is also soon to examine the way it works, to ensure it responds adequately to whatever changes occur.

Greenwich Partnership Board meeting

The Greenwich Partnership is due to meet on 15th June. As ever, several Greenwich Community Network representatives will be attending to ensure the community is represented.
CVS Consultation Day

Unfortunately for the voluntary and community sector in Greenwich, there is currently no CVS (Council for Voluntary Services) in operation. A CVS has an important role to play in any area, and Greenwich is no different, so plans are being laid to develop a new organisation. A consultation event was held on May 17th - find out more about this day here.
HER Centre - services for women

Women's network representative Rose Waites works with the HER Centre, a group dedicated to the empowering of all women. Rose is keen to raise the profile of the HER centre, as it runs a number of specialist support groups and training to help the process for personal change and growth.

Current themes of interest for the Greenwich Community Network

The Greenwich Community Network is focussing on a variety of issues affecting the residents of Greenwich. These issues form the basis of community conferences, where groups and organisations are invited to listen to guest speakers who can provide insight into each area. Future community conferences will focus on the four different themes of Local Area Agreement (LAA).
